Pet Aftercare Specialist / Pet Transport Specialist Legacy Paws Aftercare is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and professional Pet Aftercare Specialist to join our growing team. Our team helps families during one of the most difficult moments they can experience—the loss of a beloved pet. This position is responsible for providing respectful, dignified transportation and handling of pets while maintaining professionalism and compassion with every family we serve. What You'll Do Provide respectful transportation of deceased pets from their loving homes, and other locations Communicate professionally and compassionately with grieving pet owners Complete required intake paperwork accurately Obtain customer signatures and verify all information before transporting Properly identify and tag each pet Safely and securely place pets into designated transport bags and ensure all zippers are completely closed and secured Transport pets to our facility or designated crematory Follow all chain-of-custody and identification procedures Complete driver/transport logs for every pickup and drop-off Properly store pets in the designated cooler/freezer upon arrival Complete memorial items when requested, including ink paw prints and fur keepsakes Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle and work area Follow all Legacy Paws Aftercare policies and procedures Protect customer privacy and treat every pet with dignity Communicate promptly with the team regarding pickups, drop-offs, or any issues that arise What We're Looking For Compassionate and respectful attitude toward grieving families Reliable and dependable Professional appearance and communication Strong attention to detail Comfortable handling deceased pets of various sizes Able to follow detailed procedures and paperwork requirements Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Clean driving record Ability to lift and safely transport pets Smartphone for communication and scheduling Must be comfortable working independently Schedule This is a flexible, on-call position. Pickup requests may come in throughout the week, including evenings and weekends. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible work who is dependable and understands the importance of being available when families and veterinary clinics need us. Dress Code Employees/contractors are expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance. All-black clothing or scrubs are required while representing Legacy Paws Aftercare.
