Weekend Crematory Operator & Mortuary Transport Specialist Carewell Cremations and Natural Burial -
Fairfax, VA Pay:
$20-$27 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type:

Two Schedule:
Saturdays and Sundays Morning Shift:
6:00 AM-2:00
PM Evening Shift:
2:00 PM-10:00 PM Position Overview Carewell Cremations and Natural Burial is seeking two dependable and compassionate individuals to join our weekend operations team. This position combines crematory operations with mortuary transportation. The ideal candidate is respectful, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable caring for deceased individuals. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Responsibilities Safely operate crematory equipment according to company policies and applicable regulations Carefully verify identification and maintain accurate chain-of-custody records Complete required cremation logs and paperwork Transport deceased individuals from hospitals, nursing facilities, private residences, medical examiner offices, and other locations Treat every deceased person with dignity and respect Communicate professionally and compassionately with families, facility staff, and Carewell team members Maintain the cleanliness of the crematory, transport vehicles, and equipment Follow all safety, identification, and personal protective equipment procedures Assist with other crematory and mortuary operations as needed Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Dependable transportation to and from work Ability to work independently and as part of a two-person transport team Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and maneuver deceased individuals using proper equipment and assistance Strong attention to detail and ability to follow identification procedures exactly Professional appearance and respectful communication skills Comfortable working around deceased individuals Available to work the assigned weekend shift consistently Crematory or mortuary transportation experience is preferred but not required Crematory operator certification is a plus; training may be provided About Carewell Carewell Cremations and Natural Burial is a women-owned funeral home and crematory serving families throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland.
