This role is ideal for individuals looking to support grieving families and provide meaningful assistance during funeral services. The position offers flexible hours, suitable for those balancing college schedules or other commitments. Duties
  • Prepare spaces for viewings, services, and ceremonies, ensuring each area is welcoming and properly arranged.
  • Organize and manage floral displays, ensuring they are presented thoughtfully and respectfully.
  • Operate audio-visual equipment during services, including playing music or slideshows as requested.
  • Assist families and staff at chapel, church, and graveside services, providing necessary support throughout each stage.
  • Welcome visitors, guiding them to appropriate areas and providing any needed information or comfort.
  • Offer gentle and supportive guidance to grieving families, maintaining a calm, respectful, and empathetic demeanor.
  • Follow all the cleanup instructions.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required for setting up venues or transporting equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with funeral directors and other staff members to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to services provided, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications Previous experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members. Experience in event planning is a plus, showcasing an ability to manage logistics effectively. A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to support grieving families through difficult times. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for various tasks associated with the role. Day time availability.
