Job Description

The Location Manager is responsible for leading daily operations at a single funeral home location, ensuring exceptional service to families, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and adherence to Heritage Family's mission, vision, and values. This role oversees funeral home staff, manages operational performance, supports community engagement, and serves as the primary on-site leader responsible for delivering an excellent client and employee experience. The Location Manager ensures smooth coordination of funeral services, staff scheduling, facility management, financial stewardship, and continuous quality improvement within their assigned location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Oversight of Funeral Home Operations:
Lead and oversee the daily operations of a funeral home location. • Ensure operational standards are met or exceeded, delivering compassionate, personalized, andprofessional service to families. Manage and mentor all location staff, including funeral directors, apprentices, funeral assistants, andadministrative personnel. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable state/local regulations. Serve as the primary point of contact for Regional Leadership regarding operational updates,performance, facility needs, and staff support. Staff Management, Training & Development Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance reviews for all staff members at the location. Support new funeral directors or apprentices assigned to the location by offering hands-on trainingand development opportunities. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, empathy, and service excellence. Assist in interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and development planning for all location-based employees. Implementation of Operational & Strategic Initiatives Execute corporate and regional initiatives consistently within the funeral home. Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, workflow, and family experience. Maintain strong collaboration with regional and corporate teams to ensure alignment withorganizational goals. Support change management efforts related to systems, processes, and service enhancements.
Scope of Responsibility:
Manage the operations, staff, facilities, and performance of an assigned funeral home location. Execute assigned projects or initiatives at the direction of the Regional Manager Skills and Qualifications State licensure as a Funeral Director is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director with demonstrated leadership experience.

Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage daily operations, prioritize competing needs, and problem-solve effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and operational analysis.

Deep commitment to serving families with compassion, professionalism, and empathy.

Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends and holidays.

Must successfully pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must maintain insurability under company vehicle use policies

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The Location Manager must be adaptable to changing priorities and environments, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the community and the company. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk intermittently, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive hand and foot actions. Adequate hearing and visual acuity are necessary for effective communication and decision-making.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
