Job Description
Job Summary The Laundry Attendant is responsible for packing linen bags for cleaners, washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens, towels, and other textile items to ensure a consistent supply of clean items for guests. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Sort laundry items by unit bedding requirements
- Operate industrial washers and dryers
- Measure and add appropriate detergents, bleach, and other cleaning agents
- Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage before and after washing
- Fold, stack, and store clean linens according to established standards
- Deliver clean linens to appropriate departments or storage areas on schedule
- Maintain accurate inventory counts of linens and supplies
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly
- Keep the laundry area clean, organized, and free of hazards Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not always required)
- Prior laundry, housekeeping, or hospitality experience a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-50 lbs
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed Working Conditions
- Environment may be hot, humid, and noisy due to laundry equipment
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and soiled linens (proper PPE provided) Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull loads up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand/walk for most of the shift
