The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring there is an adequate supply of linen available to meet the demand of the hotel.

Schedule :

We are currently seeking part-time availability to include both weekdays and weekends (Sunday-Tuesday + Friday) from 5-10 pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Receives dirty linen from housekeeping staff and separates linens and towels by type. Washes, dries, and folds laundry following proper procedures. Maintains the organization of the laundry room. Follows all safety and OSHA regulations and other applicable state and local regulations. Tracks and reports linen shortages, damages or other discrepancies to appropriate manager. Maintains product quality standards by inspecting and properly treating stained or torn linens. Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly/efficient manner. Communicates effectively with guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Strives to exceed guest expectations and meet brand standards. Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties. Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures. Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures Attends all required department and hotel meetings

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

No prior housekeeping experience required; Customer service experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment. Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates. Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel. Ensure compliance with brand standards, federal, state and local hotel laws regarding health and safety services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud Exposure to/handling of biological substances such as blood, urine, and vomit

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis Requires frequent kneeling, squatting, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity

ADDITIONAL SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

Must successfully meet criminal background screening requirements for position.
