The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a consistent supply of clean, properly processed linens for guest rooms and hotel operations while following established safety, cleanliness, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Laundry Attendant Responsibilities Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens according to established procedures. Load and unload washers, dryers, and laundry chutes safely and efficiently. Sort linens by fabric type, soil level, color, and size. Identify stained, damaged, or worn linens and determine whether items require stain treatment, repair, or removal from service. Perform pre-treatment and post-treatment of stains as appropriate. Operate and monitor commercial washing and drying equipment. Add approved laundry chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and hotel procedures. Set washers and dryers to the appropriate cycles, temperatures, and drying times based on fabric type and load requirements. Clean dryer lint traps and maintain laundry equipment and work areas throughout the shift. Inspect linens after washing and drying to ensure cleanliness, quality, and proper condition. Place clean linens in designated clean linen carts and storage areas. Sort, fold, organize, and stock clean linens for hotel use. Maintain an adequate and consistent supply of clean linens for Guest Room Attendants and other hotel departments. Follow proper procedures for handling contaminated or potentially hazardous linens. Practice safe work habits and follow all hotel safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements, and applicable OSHA standards. Wear required personal protective equipment when handling chemicals or contaminated linens. Use laundry equipment and chemicals safely and according to manufacturer and hotel guidelines. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laundry area. Notify management of equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, damaged linens, or safety concerns. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous laundry, housekeeping, or hotel experience preferred, but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to cleanliness, quality, and detail. Ability to work efficiently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently. Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment. Ability to understand and follow chemical and workplace safety procedures. Ability to work cooperatively with housekeeping and other hotel departments. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on hotel needs. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand and arm movements. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull laundry bags, linen bundles, and carts as required. Ability to work in a warm laundry environment for extended periods. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position throughout the scheduled shift.
