Position Summary Under direct supervision, ensures facility linens and residents' personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed, and/or stored according to facility policy Essential Duties and Responsibilities Handles all laundry in compliance with sanitary guidelines Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and properly Identifies personal laundry with resident's names and remarks personal clothing items if needed Uses appropriate PPE when handling contaminated clothing Performs other related duties as required or requested Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Highschool diploma or equivalent 1+ year of experience in a related position preferred Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
