Job Description

Summary:
Loads, unloads, and tends laundering machines to clean soiled linens, garments, drapes, and other hospital articles. Mixes and adds cleaning solutions to machines. Dries, folds, sorts, and counts articles according to identification or type to verify quantities. May press articles. Distributes laundered articles to appropriate hospital department.

Sorts and processes hospital soiled/clean linen in accordance with pre-established washing formulas and hospital operating procedures Operates industrial laundry machinery such as Continuous Batch Washer (CBW), 750 lbs Washer Extractor, 450 lbs Washer 125 lbs Washer Extractor, 85 lbs Washer Extractor and Household washer Hand folds and operates industrial laundry linen finishing equipment such as folders, feeders, ironers and steam pressing machines Constructs surgical linen packs utilized by the Central Sterilization Reprocessing Departments Constructs linen Par/Bulk carts for shipment throughout the organization
