Job Description

The Makeup Director is a pivotal role in bringing our haunted attraction to life by designing and executing character-driven makeup looks. Working closely with the Creative and Costume Directors, this role ensures every actor's appearance aligns with the overall theme, storyline, and environment of the attraction. This position leads a team of makeup artists, oversees nightly operations, and maintains a high standard of quality, safety, and consistency. The Makeup Director is responsible for creating an organized workflow, from pre-season planning and training to live event management, ensuring every artists and actors are supported. What You'll Do Design and implement creative, high-quality makeup looks for all characters. Lead, schedule, and manage a team of makeup artists. Coordinate with Costume, Talent, and Performance Management teams on timing and logistics.

Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic makeup environment. Manage inventory, order supplies, and track seasonal usage. Provide mentorship and guidance on makeup techniques, including SFX and prosthetics. Remain on-site during events for touch-ups and troubleshooting. Ensure consistency in makeup design across all performances. What You Bring Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Excellent organization and time management. Proactive problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced environments. Experience planning, scheduling, and managing team workflows. Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and skin sensitivity practices. Experience in special effects (SFX) makeup for theater, film, or haunted attractions. Proficiency in airbrush techniques, prosthetics, and traditional makeup application. Experience leading or supervising a team preferred. Familiarity with inventory management and scheduling tools.
