General Manager —
Dog Spa Location:
Thousand Oaks & Simi Valley, CA Employment type: Full-time Cosmopawlitan is seeking an experienced, confident, and compassionate General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy dog spa across two established locations. Our top priorities are a safe, clean environment and top quality service for every dog and family we serve. This is a hands-on leadership role— not a desk-only position . The General Manager will be visible in the operation each day, supporting staff, caring for clients and their pets, maintaining high standards, and ensuring both locations run at its finest. What You'll Do Overlook the daily operations of both locations, ensuring each is staffed and running smoothly Create employee schedules; coordinate coverage for call-outs; monitor attendance, punctuality, and reliability Coach, support, and hold team members and managers accountable for performance, policies, and service standards Work closely with each Grooming Manager to keep services, appointments, and team responsibilities on track Assist with interviewing, hiring and developing employees Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally, following up when needed Make sure calls, messages, and customer inquiries are addressed promptly and thoughtfully Review employee hours, grooming totals, commissions, tips, and payroll information for accuracy Monitor facility cleanliness, dog safety, and the overall guest experience Coordinate and order supplies, maintenance, and repair needs Document employee, customer, and-related incidents appropriately Communicate important updates and escalated issues to ownership Make sound day-to-day decisions independently while recognizing when ownership input is needed What We're Looking For Prior management experience is required Experience managing employees, schedules, and daily business operations Strong leadership, communication, organization, and follow-through Excellent customer-service and conflict-resolution skills Comfortable addressing performance concerns and holding employees accountable Calm, professional decision-making in a fast-paced environment Comfortable using scheduling, payroll, POS, and other business software Able to travel between our Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley locations as needed A genuine love of dogs and comfort working in an active dog setting Experience in dog grooming, pet boarding, daycare, veterinary services, salons, or another service-based business is strongly preferred but not necessary. You'll Be a Great Fit If You Take initiative, notice what needs to be done without being asked, communicate effectively with different personalities, and enjoy keeping a busy team organized.
