Our associates learn through scheduled education, hands-on practice, and increasingly capable assistance on the salon floor. The goal is to prepare each associate to become a confident Level 1 stylist or colorist with the skills and professional habits to keep growing. Our company has three locations and a six-level career structure for stylists and colorists. Five seasoned Level 6 Education Directors plan and teach much of our technical education. As Associate Development Manager, you will bring the pieces together: recruiting promising people, guiding their daily experience, tracking their progress, and helping them succeed. What you'll do

• Build strong relationships with vocational and cosmetology schools through advisory boards, career days, classroom visits, and other recruitment opportunities.
• Explain our Associate Training Program and level-based career path to students and prospective hires.
• Recruit, interview, and help hire associates, including candidates entering through school co-op programs.
• Coordinate associate schedules and coverage across salon needs.
• Coach associates in guest care, professionalism, salon standards, teamwork, and the assisting skills appropriate to their stage of training.
• Track training completion, skill development, feedback, and readiness to advance to Level 1.
• Partner with our Education Directors to coordinate classes and reinforce learning on the salon floor.
• Give clear, timely feedback; address concerns fairly; and follow through on development plans.
• Support daily floor operations and serve as manager on duty when needed. What we're looking for
• An active Massachusetts cosmetology license and substantial experience working in a salon.
• Experience coaching, training, supervising, or mentoring others.
• A polished, hospitable presence and the ability to model excellent guest care and professional conduct.
• Comfort speaking to groups and building relationships with students, teachers, and school leaders.
• Strong scheduling, organization, documentation, and follow-through.
• Sound judgment when resolving conflict and responding to a busy salon floor.
• Availability to work full time, including evenings and most Saturdays, and to travel among our three locations.

You may be a seasoned stylist or colorist ready to focus your career on leadership and developing others. Prior experience with a formal associate program is valuable, but a strong record of teaching, coaching, and salon leadership matters most.

Pay:

$26.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
