Job Description

Job Description PRESS Modern Massage is looking for an experienced Front Desk Manager. This is a part-time floating position across our five studios: Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Union Square, Columbus Circle, and Long Island City. You'll work at multiple locations each week based on the schedule, though shift hours stay the same and schedules are published in advance. Over time, scheduling may settle toward the studios you prefer. The position requires a minimum of two 6-hour shifts per week, including at least one PM shift and at least one weekend shift. Shift times are 9/9:30 AM-3 PM and 3 PM-9 PM. Candidates must be available nights and weekends. We're a clinical therapeutic massage facility specializing in pain management, and we're on a mission to help and heal! Our Licensed Massage Therapists(LMTs) are nurturing, kind, and wonderful to work with. We ask the same of our Front Desk Managers, and look for a strong, steady presence to support our studio space, clientele, and LMTs. This is a performance-measured role. Success is evaluated on membership sales results, reliable attendance in line with our scheduling and call-out policies, and how well you run a studio day to day. Front Desk Managers often work solo, so we're looking for people who take real ownership: you see what needs doing, solve problems as they come up, and keep the studio running without waiting to be told. Many of our Front Desk Managers balance this role with other pursuits, and that works just fine, as long as your committed shifts are non-negotiable once the schedule is published. We're flexible with availability windows and time-off requests made in advance; in return, we expect the shifts you commit to to be rock solid. If you're looking for a job where the schedule bends week to week around whatever comes up, this isn't the right fit. If you're looking to own a role and be rewarded for results, keep reading. When you answer the availability question in your application, please begin your response with the word "flower" so we know you've read this posting in full. About You You have a track record of reliability that your references will vouch for; your team can count on you to be there. You're comfortable with variety: working at different studios throughout the week energizes you rather than throws you off. You're confident working independently as the only team member on site, comfortable de-escalating client concerns and making judgment calls in the moment. You're naturally hospitable, committed to an outstanding client experience, and understand that recommending the right membership or package is part of taking great care of clients. You're comfortable having sales conversations, motivated by goals, and energized by tracking your own progress against targets. You believe in the value of what you're selling and can speak genuinely to how regular massage benefits clients. You're consistently punctual, arriving early and fully prepared to start the day. You have strong attention to detail, ask thoughtful questions, and communicate clearly. You bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and remain calm and organized while managing multiple responsibilities. You take charge of your space: you figure things out independently, make sound judgment calls, and treat the studio like it's yours to run. You take feedback constructively and approach your work with humility and accountability. What You'll Be Doing Start your day on time, ready to support clients and your team. Own the front desk as the sole team member on site: greet clients, answer phones, texts, and emails, respond to reviews, and handle client questions and concerns with sound on-the-spot judgment. Support massage therapists by managing schedules, relaying important details, and facilitating a seamless client experience. Actively drive membership sales through confident, consultative conversations about the membership program. Hit individual and studio-level membership and package sales targets, using daily reporting tools to track your performance. Promote add-ons, extensions, and retail with the same care you bring to membership conversations.

Manage the booking platform daily:

audit upcoming appointments, verify payment details, optimize the schedule, and keep appointment notes accurate. Conduct client outreach for membership re-enrollment and retention. Serve as first point of contact for studio maintenance: identify issues, log them, coordinate with vendors and building management, and see problems through to resolution. Maintain a clean and welcoming environment: mop floors, wipe down surfaces, tidy shared areas, and keep treatment rooms fully stocked. Handle physical tasks such as unpacking laundry, moving full laundry bags, and replacing water jugs. Complete a daily task checklist and keep shared trackers up to date. Use spreadsheets and digital tools daily to track key data points. Requirements At least two years of experience in sales, hospitality, retail, or wellness, including direct experience being held to sales or performance targets. Three professional references who can speak to your attendance and reliability. Minimum of two shifts per week, including at least one PM shift and one weekend shift. Availability for nights and weekends, and comfort working across all five studios as scheduled. Experience working independently and handling client-facing situations with confidence. Comfort with sales conversations and a willingness to be held accountable to individual targets. Proficiency with computers, data entry, and basic Excel functions.
