Job Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate Seamstress Tailor Sewist Alterations Specialist to join our dynamic fashion retail team. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for customizing, repairing, and enhancing garments to ensure our customers leave feeling confident and satisfied. Your expertise in clothing alterations, garment construction, and sewing will help bring our clients' visions to life while maintaining the highest standards of quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of fabric materials and styles, from everyday wear to bespoke apparel, in a lively and supportive environment. Responsibilities Perform clothing alterations and repairs with precision, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments for a perfect fit Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to construct or modify garments efficiently and accurately Consult with customers to understand their tailoring needs and provide expert advice on fabric materials and garment options Operate pressing machines and press garments to ensure crisp finishes and professional presentation Handle garment construction tasks for custom apparel production, including men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and other specialty alterations Maintain a clean, organized workspace with proper use of sewing tools, pressing equipment, and fabric storage Ensure all sewing projects meet quality standards while adhering to safety protocols for press operation and machine use Qualifications Proven experience in fashion retail or clothing alterations with strong garment sewing skills Knowledge of fabric materials, stitching techniques, and garment construction processes Skilled in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing tools Familiarity with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production is highly desirable Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments accurately Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about alteration options and timelines Strong attention to detail, steady hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines Join us as a Seamstress Tailor Sewist Alterations Specialist where your craftsmanship transforms everyday clothing into perfectly fitted pieces that boost confidence.
