Duties Perform clothing alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, resizing, and repairing garments with precision. Construct custom apparel pieces from fabric materials, ensuring accurate garment construction and finishing. Operate sewing machines, pressing machines, and press operation tools to achieve flawless results. Use hand sewing techniques for delicate or detailed work requiring meticulous attention. Assist customers by understanding their alteration needs, offering professional advice, and ensuring their satisfaction. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including pressing stations and sewing areas. Follow safety protocols when using pressers, sewing machines, and other equipment to ensure a safe working environment. Skills Proven experience in clothing alterations within a fashion retail setting or similar environment. Strong knowledge of garment sewing, fabric materials, and garment construction techniques. Skilled in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and pressers with precision. Expertise in men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production. Excellent hand sewing skills for detailed or delicate adjustments. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments accurately. Excellent zipper sewing skills and ability to resize embroided beaded wedding gowns is a plus. Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly approach to understanding client needs.
