Job Description

Enjoy troubleshooting mechanical problems and getting equipment running smoothly? Imagine Sewing & Vacuum is looking for a detail-oriented Sewing Service Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair sewing machines, sergers, and longarm quilting machines. Your work will help customers get back to the sewing and quilting projects they love. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys hands-on repair work, takes pride in quality workmanship, and keeps tools, parts, and workspaces organized. What you'll do Inspect equipment, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs and routine service to Wimmer's Sewing standards. Service sewing machines, sergers, and longarm quilting machines. Check equipment after service to verify proper operation and repair quality. Recondition trade-in machines and loaner equipment for sale. Maintain a clean, organized service area and care for tools daily. Conduct service parts inventory counts and communicate parts and supply needs to the manager. Contact customers when their equipment is ready for pickup. Educate customers about equipment care and recommend relevant products or services when appropriate. Assist with receiving and moving shipments. Complete other service-related duties assigned by the manager and follow company policies. What you'll bring An understanding of sewing machine service, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair procedures. Strong mechanical problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A commitment to completing thorough, reliable repairs. Good organization and communication skills. The ability to work independently and coordinate with the team. Physical requirements Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet. Ability to perform these job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
