We are looking for someone who has strong knowledge of upholstery from start to finish and can work independently on a variety of custom projects. Our work includes commercial restaurant booths, banquettes, cushions, chairs, outdoor furniture, residential furniture, and custom upholstery projects. Experience with automotive and marine upholstery is also welcomed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable cutting, sewing, upholstering, repairing, and finishing pieces professionally. We are looking for someone who understands proper upholstery techniques and takes pride in producing clean, durable, high-quality work. Responsibilities Reupholster restaurant booths, banquettes, chairs, cushions, benches, and other furniture Remove existing fabric, vinyl, leather, foam, staples, and upholstery materials Measure and accurately cut fabric, vinyl, leather, foam, and other materials Sew cushion covers, panels, welting/piping, seams, zippers, and other upholstery components Upholster both seat and back cushions Upholster straight backs, channel backs, booth seating, and custom furniture pieces Install and shape foam and Dacron as needed Repair damaged or worn upholstery Work with commercial-grade vinyl, indoor/outdoor fabrics, leather, Sunbrella, and similar materials Use industrial sewing machines, staple guns, pneumatic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely Follow measurements, drawings, patterns, photos, and project specifications Maintain straight seams, consistent patterns, proper tension, clean corners, and professional finishes Assist with custom upholstery projects including furniture, automotive interiors, and boat/marine cushions when needed Safely move and handle furniture, booths, cushions, and other project materials Keep the work area organized and help maintain tools and equipment Requirements Previous professional upholstery experience required Must know how to cut, sew, and upholster Strong knowledge of upholstery construction and proper finishing techniques Experience working with fabric, vinyl, leather, foam, Dacron, and related upholstery materials Ability to operate an industrial sewing machine confidently Experience with pneumatic staple guns and standard upholstery tools Ability to take accurate measurements and create or work from patterns Must be able to complete projects neatly and efficiently Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Must be dependable, responsible, and able to meet project deadlines Ability to work independently without needing constant instruction Physical ability to lift and move furniture and work while standing, bending, and handling large pieces Experience with restaurant/commercial upholstery, channel backs, booths, custom cushions, automotive upholstery, or marine upholstery is a major plus.
