Fiberglass Technician - 1st shift CorTech - 3.1 City of Industry, CA Job Details $20 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Machine maintenance record keeping Assembly quality control testing Blending Sanding tools Masking (surface preparation method) Packing Visual color comparison Palletization Mid-level Material mixing Manual packaging Grinding tools Quality control documentation Cleaning (surface preparation method) Warehouse experience Collaboration with manufacturing teams Warehouse operations Quality control communication Materials handling Visual inspection for quality control Color matching analysis Polishing Material handling equipment operation Composite materials repair Full Job Description Specialty tub manufacturer in Industry is hiring for Fiberglass Technicians to join their team. 1st shift: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday Must be open to work overtime weekends as needed Fiberglass Repair Duties Inspect fiberglass and gelcoat surfaces for cracks, chips, scratches, voids, and other cosmetic or structural defects. Assess repair needs and report damage that requires supervisor review or may affect tub strength, door fit, or watertight performance. Prepare damaged areas by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and masking surrounding surfaces. Complete fiberglass and gelcoat repairs using approved materials, mixing ratios, application methods, and curing requirements. Match gelcoat color and finish; sand, buff, and polish repaired areas to blend with the surrounding surface. Protect plumbing, electrical components, door seals, and finished surfaces from repair dust, chemicals, and damage. Inspect completed repairs and coordinate any required quality checks or water testing before the tub is released for packing. Record repairs and materials used, maintain tools and supplies, and notify the supervisor of recurring defects.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience repairing fiberglass and gelcoat; experience with bathtubs, boats, or similar composite products is preferred. Ability to produce consistent color matches and smooth finishes with strong attention to detail. Experience using sanders, grinders, buffers, and other repair tools safely. Ability to follow work orders, repair instructions, product specifications, and packing checklists. Dependability, good communication, and the ability to work independently and with production and shipping teams. Packing, palletizing, or warehouse experience is preferred. Material-handling equipment may be operated only after required training and authorization.
