Job Description

As an Interior & Upholstery Technician, you will be responsible for restoring, repairing, and fabricating interior components for classic and muscle cars to period-correct or custom specifications. This role requires craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in producing interiors that match the quality and authenticity of high-end restorations and custom builds. You will work closely with body, paint, fabrication,mechanical, restoration and project management teams to ensure interiors align with the overall vision, quality standards, and timelines of each build. Key Responsibilities Remove, restore, repair, and install interior components including seats, door panels, headliners, carpets, dashboards, consoles, convertible tops and trim. Measure, cut, sew, and fit upholstery materials such as vinyl, leather, suede, and specialty fabrics. Rebuild and upholster seat frames, foam, padding, and springs. Install sound deadening, insulation, carpets, and interior panels. Repair or fabricate interior panels, armrests, and trim substrates. Install headliners, sail panels, sun visors, and related components. Work with factory-style patterns or create and design custom interior designs. Design and Install and wire lighting, sound systems. Design and install 3D printed items. Embroider custom logos or designs. Design interiors with the customers. Maintain period-correct details for concours or factory-correct restorations when required. Collaborate with the project manager to understand client expectations and build requirements. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly care for tools and equipment. Identify potential fitment or design issues and communicate solutions proactively. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of professional automotive upholstery or interior restoration experience (classic or custom preferred). Strong knowledge of classic and muscle car interiors, materials, and construction methods. Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and upholstery tools. Ability to read and design build specs, patterns, and design references. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working on high-value vehicles. Preferred Qualifications Experience with factory-correct restorations (GM, Ford, Mopar, etc.). Custom interior design or fabrication experience. Knowledge of seat frame repair and foam shaping. Familiarity with modern upgrades (sound systems, HVAC vents, custom consoles) while maintaining a classic aesthetic. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity for detailed and precision work.
Pay:
$25.00 - $34.00 per hour
