Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret work orders or production tickets to confirm fabric type, color, part quantity, and cutting marks. Select, measure, and prepare parts for production; lay out according to guide marks and job specifications. Operate industrial sewing machines to attach components (e.g., piping, foam, Velcro, welt, logos, pleats, guide strips) using appropriate stitch types and tension settings. Sew seat panels, arm panels, cushions, and backing pieces, including turning seams and applying pull strips or tags Monitor and inspect machine operation to detect defects (skipped stitches, tension issues, thread breaks), and troubleshoot or report malfunctions Maintain quality standards: inspect finished pieces, ensure clean edges, accurate dimensions, and correct orientation before bundling for pickup area Assist team members with heavy-weight fabrics or complex assemblies, collaborating to meet daily production targets Change threads, bobbins, needles; adjust machine settings for different fabric types (leather, vinyl, heavy upholstery, foam-backed materials) Flexibly support other sewing or assembly areas as needed to meet deadlines.Qualifications:
2-4+ years of professional industrial sewing experience, preferably in high-end upholstery, luxury furniture, automotive interiors, premium seating, or custom seat-cover manufacturing. Advanced proficiency with industrial sewing equipment, including single-needle, double-needle, and heavy-duty upholstery machines, with the ability to select and operate equipment appropriate to the material and application. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with premium upholstery materials, including genuine leather, vinyl, foam, woven textiles, and other specialty fabrics. Demonstrated ability to work with varying material weights, textures, and finishes. Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship, with the ability to produce clean, precise seams, consistent stitch lines, accurate alignment, and refined finished edges to exacting quality standards. Ability to interpret technical patterns, templates, sewing specifications, and cutting guides, translating detailed requirements into precise finished components. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, with the ability to maintain consistent stitch length, tension, seam allowance, and overall appearance throughout production. Commitment to first-quality workmanship, with a disciplined approach to inspecting materials and finished components for accuracy, consistency, fit, finish, and overall presentation. Ability to work within a high-end manufacturing environment, balancing craftsmanship and precision with production schedules, workflow requirements, and established quality standards.Preferred:
Experience producing luxury furniture, premium automotive interiors, high-end seating, custom upholstery, or other detail-intensive sewn components where appearance, fit, and finish are held to exceptional standards.Job Type:
