Posted 06/2026 Job Description Job Summary The Aircraft Seating Technician is responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair, cleaning, modification, and reassembly of aircraft seats and seating components. Work may include foam fabrication, glue work, sewing, trimming, patterning, and mechanical seat adjustments. Candidates must be comfortable working independently when required and maintaining high workmanship standards in compliance with FAA guidelines. Key Responsibilities Repair and overhaul aircraft seating in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and company standards. Perform general upholstery tasks including sewing, pattern reading, trimming, cutting materials, foam build-ups, dress cover fabrication, and cushion assembly. Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble aircraft seats and interior components to ensure proper function and quality. Assist with design approaches and upholstery techniques for major modification projects. Maintain a working familiarity with various aircraft seat styles and configurations. Modify, repair, or replace seat components, mechanisms, and soft goods as required. Perform foam shaping, gluing, and structural padding work. Maintain shop equipment, tools, and facility cleanliness. Inspect incoming materials for flaws and/or quality issues Documented work is performed in accordance with FAA and company requirements. Assist with training and guiding lesser-experienced technicians. Work independently when necessary and maintain productivity without constant supervision. Perform any additional job-related duties assigned by the Supervisor of Interiors or management. Experience & Qualifications Foam fabrication, shaping, and repair experience is required. 1-3 years of experience in aircraft upholstery or aircraft seating preferred. Knowledge of aviation materials, foams, adhesives, and upholstery techniques. Experience with commercial sewing machines, sergers, and hand tools used in upholstery fabrication. Band saw and pin saw experience is preferred.
