Job Summary
Job Summary

We are seeking an Aircraft Seat Technician - Foam Support to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft seats and seat components with a primary focus on foam build-ups, foam patterning, and cutting foam. This role does not include sewing. Work is varied and often independent, requiring precision and attention to FAA-compliant standards.

Key Responsibilities

Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble aircraft seats per work orders and OEM manuals

Perform foam build-ups, foam patterning, and cutting foam using pin saw, hand saw, and related shop equipment

Repair, modify, or replace seat frames, mechanisms, tracks, actuators, and other structural components following FAA, OEM, and company specs

Clean and restore seat structures; perform mechanical adjustments for proper function

Maintain familiarity with multiple seat styles; assist with planning seat-modification projects focused on foam requirements

Inspect incoming materials and foam stock for quality and conformity

Keep shop tools, equipment, and workspace clean and organized

Train and support less-experienced technicians on foam fabrication techniques

Complete all FAA-compliant documentation and paperwork accurately

Qualifications

Experience:

1-3 years experience with aircraft interiors or seating preferred

Skills:

Understanding of seat mechanical systems; sheet-metal and composite repair skills a plus

Proficient in foam patterning, foam build-ups, and cutting foam with pin saw and hand saw

Ability to read technical instructions, drawings, and maintenance documents

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong communication, and professional demeanor

Other:

Must be able to work independently on foam fabrication tasks

Safety & Physical Requirements

Follow FAA, OSHA, and hazmat regulations; must pass DOT drug/alcohol testing

Lift up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, bend, squat, and work in confined areas for extended periods

Ability to operate foam cutting equipment safely
