Job Summary The Furniture Sewer is responsible for sewing fabric, leather, and other upholstery materials used in the manufacturing of furniture. This position requires experience operating industrial sewing machines and producing quality upholstery components according to production specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines to sew fabric, leather, and other upholstery materials.
- Sew furniture components such as cushions, seat covers, backs, borders, and other upholstery pieces.
- Follow patterns, work orders, and production specifications to ensure accurate sewing.
- Inspect materials for defects and ensure finished pieces meet quality standards.
- Maintain consistent stitching, proper alignment, and accurate seam placement.
- Adjust sewing machine settings as needed to accommodate different materials.
- Identify and report sewing machine issues or material defects.
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures. Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous furniture sewing experience required.
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines, such as single-needle or double-needle machines.
- Knowledge of upholstery fabrics, leather, and sewing techniques.
- Ability to read patterns and follow work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Work Environment
