Wax Technician Schedule:

6:30-5:00 Mon•Thurs with 2 paid breaks, one 30 minute unpaid lunch break(40 hrs /week no overtime for now but maybe down the road)

$17-18/hr

Location:

Bastrop Tx. Will work in our wax department being a part of a fast-paced team environment. This department is responsible for some of the initial steps necessary for producing unique pieces of art for artists around the country and across the world. This position will occasionally be needed to help in related departments and the desire is to cross train. The role requires following daily production schedules and adhering to quality standards The Wax department is an air conditioned workspace.

Responsibilities include:

Wax Pouring & Slushing:

Manage the temperature and application of molten wax into flexible rubber molds to create hollow wax replicas.

Wax Spruing:

Design and attach a system of wax gates, runners, and vents (the "sprue system"). This requires an understanding of fluid dynamics to ensure bronze flows correctly into the mold without trapping air.

Mold Disassembly:

Carefully remove wax patterns from complex multi-part rubber molds without distorting the shape or losing fine detail.

Wax Chasing & Repair:

Inspect patterns for imperfections such as air bubbles, non-fills, seam lines, or flash (excess wax). Use hand tools, heat pens, or alcohol lamps to repair, smooth, and blend these surfaces to meet quality standards.

Quality Control:

Ensure accuracy and uniformity across wax builds to prevent defects in the final metal casting. Regular contact with molten wax, silicone/polyurethane molds, and heat-generating tools. Use measuring equipment such as tape measures and calipers.

Hand tools:

various dental tools, loop tools, soldering irons Check parts for accuracy/ finish waxes to client specifications Inspect completed work with strong attention to detail and meet quality standard Maintain clean and organized workspace Physical stamina•ability to stand at workstation for long periods, also bend, stoop, sit, lift up to 50lbs regularly Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Must pass Pulmonary Function Test Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English Strong attention to detail Previous experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment is preferred Motivated self-starter with sense of urgency and ability to work independently Ability to follow written and spoken work instructions Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions Maintain reliable and fast work pace consistent with production goals/timelines for quality and quantity Vision capabilities such as depth perception, color, attention to detail Perform other duties as assigned throughout the facility.
