Job Summary
Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Upholstery Technician to fabricate and install upholstery, cover panels, and make simple patterns for aircraft interiors using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabricate, cover, and install flat panels and curtains using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.

Work with various materials, including fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, and other materials, using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools, and power tools.

Cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads, and cover/install panels.

Use material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

2 years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and/or hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades

Experience in aerospace industry preferred

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation

Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations

Computer literacy required

Additional Responsibilities:

Participate in process improvements to increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours

Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment as required

Address unsafe conditions before putting others at risk

Physical Requirements:

Able to climb ladders and stairs

Work in small restricted areas

Lift up to 40 pounds

Work any shift

Uniform Policy

Uniform Requirements:

Purchase uniforms from designated supplier (CINTAS).

Interim Attire:

Wear navy-blue shirt/t-shirt and blue work pants/shorts (no denim) prior to receiving uniforms.

3 Flat front pants

2 Face masks (in case the mask mandate returns)

Safety Shoes:

Steel-toed shoes required for job duties.
