Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately upholster furniture according to design requirements. Reupholster furniture using various upholstery techniques, including padding, springing, and covering with fabric or leather materials. Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and sewing machines to cut fabric materials precisely and assemble furniture components securely. Repair and maintain existing upholstery by replacing worn fabrics, padding, or structural elements to extend furniture lifespan. Handle heavy lifting safely during the transportation and positioning of furniture pieces, adhering to manual handling safety protocols. Interpret manufacturing instructions and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and upholstery work. Utilize woodworking skills for frame repairs or modifications as needed for furniture restoration projects. Skills Strong attention to detail to ensure flawless finishes and precise upholstery work. Proficiency in upholstery techniques such as reupholstering, sewing, and fabric cutting. Experience with manual cutting tools, sewing machines, power tools, pneumatic tools, and woodworking equipment. Knowledge of fabric materials including leather and various textiles used in upholstery projects. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specification documents accurately. Skilled in repairing upholstery components and performing maintenance tasks on furniture pieces. Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required during installation or restoration processes.
