We are hiring a licensed veterinary technician or experienced veterinary assistant, who is currently enrolled in a veterinary technology program. Skills required include expertise in monitoring patients during anesthetic procedures, excellent client communication/ education, proficiency in assisting in veterinarians in exam rooms, and, mostly importantly, strong abilities in venipuncture and IV catheter placement in dogs and cats. Additional desired (but not required) skills are experience with dental radiographs and cystocentesis. Schedule is four weekdays 10 hour shifts and generally two Saturdays per month from 8am-12pm. Technicians also rotate (usually once monthly) supervising boarding animals' medical care, which is mostly giving oral medications, and the occasional diabetic boarder.
