Rehm Animal Clinic in Baldwin County is looking for an experienced veterinary nurse or technician assistant to help meet the needs of our thriving animal hospital located in Loxley, AL! Clinic Hours :

Rehm Animal Clinic at Timber Run is open 7am - 6pm, M-F and 7am- 12pm on Saturdays.

Total Compensation Package Incudes:

$14.00 to $18.00/hour

•Pay rate is based on experience. Pay could be more, if skill sets are demonstrable at expert level and/or a Licensed Technician with proven skill set. Two weeks

PATIENT EXAMINATIONS

Proficiency in basic parameters of small animal health and can recognize variations from normal. Can determine and know normal values of TPR and auscultate heart and lungs using a stethoscope. Yes or No

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Ability to recognize small animal emergency situations and have a basic understanding of emergency treatment protocols, including; assisting in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, placing an intravenous catheter, apply temporary bandages and instituting hemostasis. Yes or No

LABORATORY PROCEDURES

Proficient in collection and preparation of specimens and samples for diagnostic evaluation (Fecal, Blood, Urine). Ability to perform basic diagnostic tests, and can maintain laboratory equipment. Yes or No

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING

Proficient in producing diagnostic radiographs and other electronic images with acceptable safety protocols, patient positioning, exposure techniques and specialized procedures. Yes or No

SURGICAL ASSISTING

Can prepare and maintain the surgical environment in order to ensure an asepsis for both patient and personal safety. Can assist in and has knowledge of specific job tasks related to surgical procedures. Yes or No

ANESTHESIA

Proficient in monitoring anesthesia for the Canine/Feline patient to facilitate pain free diagnostic, treatment and surgical procedures. Has assisted in and has knowledge of procedures and risks associated with general anesthesia. Has assisted in monitoring a patient under general anesthetic. Understands principals of safety for both patient and personnel. Yes or No

DENTISTRY

Knowledge of proper dental techniques in order to maintain the dental health of the patient and the safety of personnel. Ability to gather data for the assessment of dental health, perform supragingival and subgingival scaling and polishing and have assisted in and has knowledge of techniques for dental extractions. PHARMACY AND PHARMACOLOGY

Ability to handle pharmacological and biological agents in such a way as to ensure the safety of the patient, client and personnel, and efficacy of the product. Ability to prepare and dispense medication, calculate dosages, recognize drug classification, recognize adverse reactions and a knowledge of regulations regarding the safe handling of biohazardous materials. ANIMAL BEHAVIOR

Have knowledge of the normal behavior of the Canine/Feline patients and can recognize abnormal behavior in order to provide for the safety and well-being of the patient and personnel and to foster the human-animal bond between client and patient. Yes or No

COMMUNICATION WITH CLIENTS/MEDICAL RECORDS

Proficiency in establishing an effective line of communication with the client to obtain pertinent information concerning the patient. The ability to instruct clients concerning the home care required in order to promote and maintain the health of the patient and safety of the client.
