Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technician Baker Bristol Pet Hospital | Costa Mesa, CA Full-Time or Part-Time | In Person $17.00-$23.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Full Time/Part Time Join Our Veterinary Team Baker Bristol Pet Hospital is a long-established, multi-doctor veterinary hospital that has been caring for pets in Costa Mesa for more than 60 years. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team. Previous veterinary hospital experience is strongly preferred. We are willing to train and develop the right candidate, but this position is intended for someone who already has some previous clinical experience. Students enrolled in a veterinary assistant program are welcome to apply. We see a diverse caseload of dogs, cats, and exotic pets , with opportunities to work in general medicine, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, diagnostics, and hospitalized patient care. Daily Responsibilities Depending on experience and skill level, responsibilities may include: Assisting veterinarians with appointments, treatments, and procedures Patient handling, restraint, and obtaining histories Blood draws and collection of diagnostic samples In-house laboratory testing and reference laboratory preparation Radiology Surgical preparation and assistance Anesthesia monitoring and recovery Hospitalized patient care and medication administration Dental procedures and cleanings Maintaining treatment, surgical, and laboratory areas Communicating patient updates and concerns to the medical team Providing clients with appropriate medication and home-care instructions What We're Looking For We value reliability, teamwork, good communication, and a willingness to continue learning .

The ideal candidate:

Has some previous experience working in a veterinary hospital Handles dogs and cats confidently and safely Is dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Works well with doctors and other team members Follows established protocols and works safely Is comfortable asking appropriate questions and learning new skills Takes pride in patient care and maintaining an organized hospital Experience with surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, or exotic animals is a plus.
