Job Description

Veterinary Nurse or Receptionist Full-Time, Mon-Fri Join Our Team at Companion Pet Care Companion Pet Care has proudly served the Encinitas community for over 40 years. What began as a small neighborhood animal hospital has grown into a trusted, full-service veterinary practice—while still maintaining the close-knit, friendly atmosphere. We are a full-service hospital offering preventative care, routine appointments, vaccinations, surgery, dental procedures, and advanced diagnostics. We also work closely with visiting specialists who provide ultrasound services and specialized surgical care, allowing us to deliver comprehensive, high-quality medicine right here in our hospital. Key Receptionist Responsibilities:
Checking-in patients for appointments and taking a history to deliver to the veterinarian. Answer phone calls, schedule appointments. Manage Emails and text communications. Educate pet owners on pet care, health, and preventive treatments. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the hospital environment.
Key Nursing Responsibilities:
Restraining animals for examination, diagnostics and treatments. Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians. Perform diagnostic tests such as blood draws and x-rays. Educate pet owners on pet care, health, and preventive treatments. Maintain patient records and assist with the management of appointments and follow-up care. Provide nursing care for sick, injured, and recovering animals. Assist in surgeries and procedures, including preparing instruments, monitoring anesthesia, and post-operative care. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the hospital environment. Help with the day-to-day operations of a busy, fast-paced veterinary hospital.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to collaborate with a friendly, dedicated team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. High School Diploma or Equivalent Previous Veterinary Nurse experience of at least 1 Year . Experience with Avimark preferred but not required.
Compensation:
