Part-Time Hospital Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Glendora Pet Care Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are looking for a dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented individual who is confident in clinical skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment. What You'll Do Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and laboratory samples Safely restrain patients and provide compassionate patient care Place IV catheters and administer medications and vaccines as directed Perform radiographs and assist with diagnostic procedures Prepare and monitor patients for surgical and dental procedures Assist with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures Fill prescriptions and calculate medication dosages per DVM instructions Communicate with clients regarding treatments and medications Maintain clean, organized, and stocked treatment and surgery areas Provide occasional front desk support as needed What We're Looking For Strong patient-handling and clinical skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Compassionate and professional approach to patient and client care Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Surgical, dental, and anesthesia monitoring experience preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous veterinary assistant experience required Compensation range reflects varying experience and skill levels.
