Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by performing essential animal handling, clinical procedures, and clinic maintenance. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and surgical assistance Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and equipment through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices Record accurate patient information, treatment details, and procedure notes in medical records Help manage client communication by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and providing pet care advice Handle front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, managing appointments, and processing payments Support animal husbandry activities such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior to promote welfare Skills Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and husbandry Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior to assist effectively in clinical settings Experience with dog handling, equine care, or other animal species is a plus for diverse patient support Proficiency in cleaning protocols, PPE use, record keeping, and maintaining a sterile environment Ability to perform technical tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and restraint techniques Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare and understanding of veterinary critical care procedures This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about animal health who are eager to grow their veterinary expertise in a supportive environment.
