We provide a full range of general practice services for dogs, cats and exotics. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate, personable and prioritizes great patient care. Essential job functions:
Ability to practice safe handling of all types of chemicals, equipment, and pets Identify and apply proper safety measures for restraint Work with Veterinarians and Room Technicians to create invoices and estimates Triage incoming patients Administer medications SQ, IM and IV Calculating medication oral and injectable Maintain and use laboratory and medical equipment (laboratory equipment, monitors and autoclave, etc.) Run in-house laboratory samples Prepare samples for outside laboratory analysis Proficient in blood draws. Perform venous catheterization Restraint for a variety of patients, including fractious animals Proper restraint for various procedures Knowledge of triage and vital derangement Proficient in IV catheter placement on both feline/canine patients
Surgery:
Preparations, anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and surgical write ups. Perform radiographs (including dental radiographs) Perform dental scaling, polishing, and extractions Complete ear cleanings, nail trims and anal gland expressions Dispense and fill prescribed medications; discuss dosing instructions and side effects with clients Medical record documentation Bandaging various areas of a patient Reviewing treatment plans and go home instructions. Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials. Handle telephone calls when necessary House keeping
