Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly contribute to the health and well-being of our beloved animal patients. In this vital role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing exceptional animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a smooth clinic operation. Your proactive approach and compassionate attitude will help create a welcoming environment for pet owners and their animals alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your veterinary skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their families. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety during examinations, treatments, and surgeries Prepare and maintain sterile environments using aseptic techniques for surgical procedures and laboratory work Collect medical samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for diagnostic testing in accordance with laboratory protocols Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring animal vital signs and assisting with emergency procedures Maintain accurate records of treatments, medications, and laboratory results using veterinary software Handle client communication at the front desk, including appointment scheduling, answering questions, and providing updates on patient care Support kennel management by cleaning, feeding, and caring for hospitalized or boarding animals in compliance with USDA regulations Skills Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, and medical-surgical procedures Experience with animal husbandry, dog handling, equine care, and animal restraint techniques Proficiency in veterinary software applications and Microsoft Office tools for record keeping and communication Familiarity with drug enforcement regulations (DEA) and USDA guidelines related to veterinary practice Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Hands-on experience in veterinary clinic settings with knowledge of companion animal medicine and surgery Ability to perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and analysis accurately This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about animal health who want to grow their career in a fast-paced veterinary environment. $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
