Job Description
Veterinary Assistant - Exam Room Technician (Urgent Care Overlap) Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care | Rocklin, CA Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team as an Exam Room Technician. This position overlaps with our Urgent Care service, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants to continue developing their technical skills. As one of the largest AAHA-accredited veterinary hospitals in the Sacramento region, Rocklin Ranch is home to 12 veterinarians and more than 70 team members. We are part of Rocklin Park Veterinary Hospitals, a family-owned group of 11 hospitals dedicated to practicing exceptional medicine while fostering a collaborative, supportive culture. Schedule Monday-Friday 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM Compensation $21.00-$24.00 per hour Compensation is based on experience and technical skill set. About the Position This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant who is confident working in exam rooms and comfortable assisting with urgent and same-day appointments. Previous Emergency or Urgent Care experience is highly desirable, but we are happy to train a motivated candidate with a strong general practice background. Responsibilities Room appointments and obtain thorough patient histories Triage urgent and same-day patients Perform blood draws, including jugular venipuncture Place intravenous catheters Provide safe and effective patient restraint Assist doctors with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments Run in-house laboratory diagnostics Obtain diagnostic radiographs Administer medications and treatments as directed Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and treatment plans Maintain accurate medical records Assist with hospitalized patients as needed Support the Urgent Care team during busy periods while maintaining excellent patient care
