Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess a strong understanding of veterinary practices. This role involves supporting veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to animals, ensuring their comfort and safety during visits. The Veterinary Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining the clinic's efficiency and providing exceptional service to pet owners.
Schedule:
Saturday's and Sunday's; Thursday's OR Friday's open for discussion. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring animals are properly restrained and comfortable. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, including oral, topical, and injectable forms. Perform routine laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments and equipment. Provide excellent customer service at the front desk, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and well-being during visits. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Monitor animal behavior and health status during visits, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian. Requirements 1 year of previous experience in a veterinary clinic is required. Experience with animal restraint techniques and medication administration. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Ability to handle various types of animals safely, including dogs and equines. Experience in front desk operations is beneficial but not required. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential. Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary care. $18.00 - $29.00 per hour
