About Us PetMed Urgent Care is a privately owned veterinary urgent care located in San Luis Obispo , opened in May 2023 . We provide same-day and next-day urgent care appointments to help pet parents get timely, compassionate care when their pets need it most. Our mission is to offer high-quality, efficient, and empathetic veterinary care while supporting a collaborative and fulfilling work environment. We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and is passionate about both patient care and client communication. Join our team — let's make a difference together. - Team PetMed Responsibilities Hours - Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, 1 hour lunch break. Closed evenings, weekends, and Holidays Maintain professional communication with clients and team members. Recognize and respond appropriately to common veterinary emergencies. Ensure the treatment area remains clean, organized, and sanitary . Clean and disinfect instruments and equipment after each use. Assist veterinarians in determining and implementing appropriate treatments. Communicate the veterinarian's findings, assessment, and plan clearly to clients. Explain the veterinarian's diagnosis and prognosis in an accurate and empathetic manner. Document medical records that summarize the veterinarian's findings, assessment, treatment plan, diagnosis, and prognosis.
