Duties Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal restraint, medication administration, and performing basic procedures during overnight shifts Monitor hospitalized animals closely, observing vital signs and responding promptly to any changes in condition Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, medications, and procedures using veterinary terminology and documentation standards Support laboratory work such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing to aid diagnosis and treatment plans Handle animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and ensuring a safe environment for all animals in care Restrain animals safely using proper techniques for procedures like catheterization or physical exams Provide compassionate pet care by calming anxious animals and assisting with owner communications when necessary Requirements Prior Vet assistant experience or animal handling background with a strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy Experience working in veterinary clinics or hospitals, including familiarity with veterinary terminology and aseptic techniques Knowledge of laboratory procedures, medication administration protocols, and veterinary critical care practices Ability to handle diverse animals including dogs, cats, and equines with confidence and patience Strong animal restraint skills along with proficiency in pet care, animal catheterization, and laboratory sample collection Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members at night and documenting detailed reports Must be able to work overnight shifts reliably while maintaining high standards of animal safety and comfort Join us in delivering outstanding overnight veterinary support that makes a real difference! $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
