Job Description

Animal ER Care, LLC is an independent, female-owned, multi-location emergency practice in the Front Range of Colorado. As a growing VECCS II and AAHA-accredited emergency hospital, we seek credentialed veterinary assistants experienced in emergency and critical care to join our practice. Our flagship practice is located within the Veterinary Specialty Center complex, which houses multiple specialty practices, including Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine, Mountain View Veterinary Surgery, Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery, Animal Allergy and Dermatology, and Colorado Canine Orthopedics. We work collaboratively with our neighboring practices to provide well-rounded care to our patients. Some of the services available to the patients within the specialty center include emergency stabilization of trauma and acute illness, continued care through internal medicine for chronic/advanced illness, CT and endoscopy, advanced orthopedic care, soft-tissue surgery, oncology, specialty dentistry, and more. Animal ER Care's doctors practice up-to-date medicine and work together in a supportive environment to ensure we are providing comprehensive care to all pets. Our newest location, near Academy and Carefree, operates during the day and aims to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by the end of 2024. Our Assistants are primarily responsible for assisting technicians and DVMs with patient and hospital care. They are responsible for preparing treatments and procedures and assisting with patient care. They also play a significant role in the flow of patient care in the following departments: Outpatient- Our treatment area assistant's primary responsibilities are assisting patients, setting up treatments and procedures, radiographs, sedations, and anesthetic procedures, running diagnostic tests as requested by the DVM and Technicians, and providing restraint utilizing Fear-Free principles. ICU- Our ICU Assistants support the ICU nursing team with providing patient care to our most critical patients. Under the direction of the Nurse Technicians and Doctor assistants, they prepare medications and administer treatments, provide restraint, monitor patient output, and maintain a stocked and clean ICU department.
