About us Pet Xpert Animal Clinic Pet Xpert Animal Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our family-owned and operated business. We are seeking someone who is excited to be the first impression of our company and ready to provide our clients with warm and compassionate service to our client's fur-babies. This person will be responsible for: Acquires initial patient history from clients Assist the veterinarian during examinations of animals, providing proper restraint as needed. Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Obtain radiographs of animals and have a knowledge of proper positioning and techniques. Perform laboratory tests. Clean and sterilize instruments and materials used during surgery. Discusses the treatment estimates and plans given by veterinarian with clients. Acquires blood samples Maintain clean and stocked examination rooms and overall cleanliness of clinic. Prepare animals for surgery, performing tasks such as shaving surgical areas and placing IV catheters. Administer anesthesia to animals, under the supervision of veterinarian, and monitor vitals during surgery so adjustments to anesthesia can be made if needed. Care for and monitor animals post surgery. Explains patient instructions to clients and shares educational materials Answers incoming calls and returns calls with instructions from veterinarian. Duties may also include working in other areas of clinic when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:
High School diploma or GED At least 6 months - 1 year of veterinary technician experience or recently graduated with Veterinarian Technician Assistant certificate Must have reliable transportation. Drug testing required for employment. Be familiar with Microsoft Office programs and become proficient in a short time period with our veterinary management software, Evetpractice. Be able to carry out instructions furnished orally, written or diagram form. Person must be able to bend and pick up to 30 lbs without assistance and more with assistance. Be able to frequently walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. Being bilingual is a plus as veterinarian is bilingual and has many clients who are Spanish-speaking. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to adapt to current needs of clinic. We provide needed in-house training to ensure candidate's success. We only ask that you come to work with an open-mind to learn and be trained.
Schedule:
This position is full-time and includes weekend hours 2 times a month. Pet Xpert Animal Clinic offers expert pet care to our community since 2016.
