Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment. Monitor anesthesia administration and veterinary critical care patients, ensuring safe and effective sedation or anesthesia protocols. Perform laboratory work including sample collection, phlebotomy, and diagnostic testing to support accurate diagnoses. Manage animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and maintaining proper housing conditions for hospitalized animals. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively to facilitate examinations, treatments, or radiology diagnostics. Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and laboratory analyzers with precision. Administer medications via appropriate routes such as IV insertion or animal catheterization while monitoring patient responses. Support veterinary surgical procedures by assisting with aseptic techniques, equipment setup, and post-operative care. Maintain detailed records using veterinary software to document treatments, procedures, and patient progress accurately. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up requirements. Experience Proven experience working as a Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting. Kennel experience with animal handling across various species including dogs and cats. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support clinical decision-making. Hands-on experience with dental terminology and procedures related to pet dental health. Veterinary anesthesia monitoring skills including general anesthesia management for surgeries or critical care cases. Laboratory experience involving diagnostic radiology, radiology diagnostics, and pet laboratory work. Familiarity with veterinary surgical assistance including animal restraint techniques and medical equipment operation. Experience in emergency medicine and critical & intensive care environments requiring rapid response skills. Competence in veterinary software systems for record-keeping and appointment management.
