Duties Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing supplies and maintaining a sterile environment. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during procedures. Administer medications and vaccinations accurately under supervision, following veterinary protocols. Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and monitoring animal health status. Manage front desk responsibilities including scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and maintaining patient records with attention to detail. Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, preparing specimens, and assisting with diagnostic tests. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by sanitizing equipment, sterilizing tools using aseptic techniques, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Assist with specialized procedures like animal catheterization or animal physiology assessments when trained. Requirements Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal care experience preferred; strong animal handling skills are essential. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, and physiology to support clinical activities effectively. Experience with pet care routines including medication administration, restraint techniques, and basic first aid. Familiarity with front desk operations such as scheduling appointments and managing client communications is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and pet owners. Prior veterinary assistant or clinic experience is highly desirable; .
