Job Description
Overview We are seeking dedicated Veterinary Assistants and Technicians to join our compassionate veterinary team. This roles offer an exciting opportunitis to work in a dynamic animal care environment, providing essential support in clinical procedures, animal handling, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, veterinary assistance, and clinical techniques, with a passion for pet and animal care. Experience with both small animals and equine patients is highly valued. This position is integral to delivering high-quality veterinary services and ensuring the well-being of our patients. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including medication administration, animal restraint, and specimen collection Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas Handle animals safely during examinations and treatments, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques Support laboratory work by collecting samples, preparing specimens, and maintaining lab equipment Maintain accurate medical records and assist with front desk duties such as client check-in and appointment scheduling Administer medications accurately following veterinary protocols Assist with surgical procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and preparing surgical instruments Manage pet care routines including feeding schedules, exercise, and monitoring patient health status Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency procedures Handle specialized tasks such as animal catheterization, animal physiology assessments, and understanding of veterinary terminology Experience Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred Animal handling skills across various species, including dogs, cats and other small exotics Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, and physiology Experience with pet care routines, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques Veterinary assistant or technician experience highly desirable Familiarity with front desk operations within a veterinary setting is a plus Demonstrated ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively Experience in administering medications and performing basic laboratory tests or procedures This positions require a compassionate individual committed to animal welfare, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should be prepared to handle physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of animal care.
