About us Southern Wind Animal Hospital is a small business in Palm Coast, FL. We are professional, fast-paced, challenging and our goal is to provide the best care possible to our clients and their pets.
Our work environment includes:
Modern office setting Growth opportunities On-the-job training Flexible working hours We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and provide support to our veterinarian and technicians. The ideal candidate will have experience in the animal field, including animal handling, cleaning and disinfecting procedures, and customer service/phone skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with cats and dogs, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarian and technicians in their examination and treatment of animals through gentle restraint techniques. Provide animal care and husbandry assistance including laundry, cleaning of exam rooms, treatment areas, and bathrooms. Fill medication prescriptions accurately as prescribed by the veterinarian. Assist with pharmaceutical inventory and hospital supply inventory. Assist in laboratory procedures such as blood draws, urinalysis, and fecal exams. Assist with digital radiographs. Assist with surgical and sedation procedures. Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$14.50 - $17.00 per hour
