Job Description

Buck Lake Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable Kennel Technician to join our team. As an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care while creating a low stress, compassionate experience for every pet. We actively practice Fear Free principles throughout our hospital, and all team members are expected to complete Fear Free Certification as part of their onboarding and training. This position plays an essential role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians by maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for hospitalized and boarding patients. The ideal candidate is hardworking, attentive to detail, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and has a genuine passion for animal welfare. Primary Responsibilities Animal Care and Monitoring Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized animals Monitor animals for changes in appetite, behavior, or medical status Assist technicians or veterinarians with safe animal handling when needed Ensure fresh food, water, and clean bedding are provided at all times Kennel and Facility Maintenance Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, and animal care areas Maintain cleanliness of laundry, dishes, and general support spaces Follow all sanitation and safety protocols Ensure proper organization and storage of supplies Support for Medical and Front Desk Teams Assist with animal transfers between departments Help with restraint during treatments or exams when directed Prepare cages, runs, and treatment areas for incoming patients Communicate observations about animals promptly to the medical team Client Service Support Help during drop off and pick up for boarding pets Provide friendly and clear communication regarding animal belongings or care needs Ensure animals are presented clean and prepared for their return home
Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour
