Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in dental and oral surgical procedures to animals
- Assist technician with blood draws and catheter placements
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Help technician prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Provide compassionate care and handle animals with patience and respect
- Clean surgical instruments and prepare for sterilization
- Maintain cleanliness of the hospital
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a veterinary assistant is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of animal behavior, handling, and restraint techniques
- Proficiency in performing laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis
- Ability to operate veterinary equipment and machinery effectively
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
