You will play a vital role in supporting veterinarians, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and providing exceptional pet care through hands-on technical skills and compassionate client communication. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing equipment, restraining animals, and monitoring vital signs. Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, administering medications, and maintaining a clean and safe clinic environment. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, and blood draws. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating effectively with pet owners about care instructions. Maintain accurate record keeping of medical histories, treatment plans, medication administration, and procedural documentation. Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to uphold safety standards for staff and animals alike. Contribute to animal welfare by observing behavior, assessing health status, and providing comfort during visits or hospitalization. Skills Proven kennel experience along with veterinary technician or critical care experience to handle diverse animal needs confidently. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior to assist effectively during procedures. Skilled in animal handling techniques including dog handling, restraint methods, and pet care best practices. Experience with surgical support tasks such as sterilizing instruments, assisting during surgeries, and post-operative care. Competent in record keeping systems for tracking treatments, medications, and client communications accurately. Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently to maintain a hygienic clinic environment that promotes health and safety. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about animal welfare, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
