Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Room Assistant, where your enthusiasm for animal care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and clients. In this vital role, you will support veterinary professionals by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-equipped clinical environment. Your proactive approach and compassionate attitude will ensure smooth daily operations, uphold high standards of animal welfare, and contribute to a positive experience for both animals and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your veterinary skills in a fast-paced, caring setting. Duties Assist veterinary staff with animal handling, restraint, and care during examinations, treatments, and surgeries Prepare treatment areas by cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing supplies in accordance with aseptic techniques Support laboratory procedures including sample collection, processing, and record keeping Help with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring behavior Manage kennel duties by cleaning cages, monitoring animal welfare, and ensuring proper record documentation Assist with medication administration, IV insertions, catheterizations, and other basic veterinary procedures under supervision Maintain accurate records of treatments, procedures, and patient information while adhering to confidentiality standards Qualifications Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience with dogs, horses or other animals is a plus Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy and physiology is highly desirable Experience in veterinary clinics or hospitals with skills in surgery support and critical care is advantageous Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) protocols to ensure safety Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Basic laboratory skills including sample processing or record keeping are beneficial This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal welfare who are eager to grow their veterinary expertise.
