Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and support. In this energetic role, you will assist veterinary professionals with animal handling, and medical procedures, ensuring our patients receive compassionate and thorough care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your passion for animals and dedication to their well-being will make a meaningful difference every day. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal restraint, medication administration, and basic medical procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of our hospital treatment areas, exam rooms and laboratory spaces to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety. Handle animals with care during intake, examinations, treatments, and discharge. Manage ordering prescription food stock, drugs and supplies. Assist with laboratory tasks including sample collection and processing tests. Support veterinary critical care procedures by monitoring vital signs, administering medications under supervision, and assisting during procedures. Act as a liaison between veterinarians and clients. Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred; familiarity with veterinary assistant duties is a plus. Skills in animal restraint, dog handling, and pet care are essential for success in this role. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, medication administration protocols, and veterinary clinic operations will help you excel.
