Richmond, KY Shedule:
Full-time & Part-Time (Student friendly); Weekdays 7:30am-6:30pm, Saturdays 7:30am-2:30pm
Preference:
Candidates within 20 miles of the clinic. Role Overview The position is designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in a veterinary environment, especially Pre-Vet, Biology, or Animal Science students . It is an entry-level role with significant learning opportunities in caring for sick, injured, and post-surgical patients. Pre-RN students may also find this opportunity beneficial. Key Responsibilities Feeding and walking pets daily and in all kinds of weather Perform heavy lifting and team lifting tasks, safely handling supplies or large pets. Assisting veterinary technicians/assistants with patient care Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of distress or illness, reporting concerns promptly to other veterinary staff Assist with animal restraint during examinations and treatments, ensuring safety for both pets and staff . Maintaining a hygienic hospital environment that minimizes cross-contamination Proactively executing daily sanitation cycles, including laundry, dishwashing, and pet waste disposal Ideal Candidate Traits A peer whose dependable work ethic aligns with the team's ability to collaborate daily and achieve shared goals Physically capable, energetic, adaptable, and resilient Clear and concise communication skills with a strong, detail-oriented memory and proficiency with reading and writing Management of multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor Must have a personal vehicle Schedule & Requirements Flexible, student-friendly schedule Rotating weekend availability required Must be able to work without the distraction of personal cell phone devices, and be willing to store these devices away so that they do not interfere with patient care Experience preferred but not required Our exceptional veterinary team is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning, ensuring both personal growth and the highest standards of pet patient care.
